The heart of ComCloud.

ComProvis.

It’s a fully automated, modular and flexible provisioning system with self-service portals and set of APIs..

ComProvis is the heart of ComCloud. It relies on Web services and modern RIA (Rich Internet Application) interface.

The core module is comprised of Provisioning layer located over the actual infrastructure, which communicates with integrated Business Logic and Resource Manager, and exposes asynchronous Web services that are called from the portal, or from the vendors ystems. Provisioning is based on direct function calls via the appropriate SDK (Software Development Kit).

Self-service portal is a two-layer portal consisting of Single-Sign-On layer featuring SAML 2.0 interface for additional integration and actual Cloud services management interface. The portal supports multiple versions of browsers (Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Opera and Safari) and it’s fully brandable.

ComProvis main functionalities include:

⦁ Two-layer portal with SSO and Service management layer
⦁ 4levels of administration (Telco admin, Company admin and User admin) plus Helpdesk user
⦁ Multilanguage interface
⦁ Transactional provisioning actions with rollback feature
⦁ SAML 2.0 API for external user authorization and authentication

Automated provisioning service located on the Trend Micro platform.

ComProvis: Antivirus protection service is located on the Trend Micro platform. Updates and scans are automated and can be executed in real time.

SSO stands for Single Sign On, a mechanism for authentication which after initial login enables the user to use all associated applications without the need to re-enter username and password. ComProvis:SSO extends the main purpose of classic SSO systems and serves as role and license management system for 3rd party SaaS applications.

Main purpose of ComProvis:SSO is:

  • central user management for all ComProvis lines of provisioning
  • central place for managing 3rd party SaaS (integration of Marketplace)
  • SAML 2.0 authentication

ComProvis:SSO provides API for SaaS vendors and therefore opens the Cloud for ISVs to offer applications through ComProvis self-provisioning system. ComProvis:SSO will manage SSO and Licenses for SaaS vendor when they implement API connector. The end user will see the same user interface for all purchased SaaS applications and will not need to login to any app, but only to ComProvis:SSO. User experience is enhanced in this way.

Each SaaS application is independent of the SSO application, but they are associated with user login system and API mechanism for provisioning 3rd party SaaS. SSO is the central point of the system, where the user selects one or more applications they want to run. Also, SSO serves administrators to create new and edit or disable existing users, giving them or taking away access rights to any of the SaaS applications.

The advantage of SSO is to eliminate the need for successive logins to multiple applications, which reduces errors and forgotten passwords, and therefore increases employee (users) productivity. The advantages are detailed reports for full control of user activity. Company Admin can view all provisioning requests made by its users.

In this way, Cloud provider allows the market to make offers to users – and makes no difference between global products and some local ISVs applications – it’s up to customers to decide what they want and what they will pay for. Smaller software manufacturers can offer their products to a much larger marketplace that they will usually be capable of serving on their own.
